Cooperativa Voghierese
History
The Cooperativa Agricola Voghierese a r.l. was founded in Voghiera in 2015 by a network of farms operating in the Aglio di Voghiera DOP production area.
The aim of the Cooperative is to safeguard and improve production of the variety of white garlic recorded in the Register of Varieties under the name Aglio Voghiera.
The operational structure of the partners makes use of dryers, storage facilities (cold rooms), workshops for cutting and cleaning the product, a packaging workshop and warehouses for storage of the product.
The headquarters of the Cooperativa Voghierese is in Ducentola di Voghiera, at Via Pontida, 5. The garlic grown, processed and packaged by Cooperativa Voghierese is sold under the brand name of Aglio del Nonno.
It is sold in various sizes, from packages of 1 to 5 kilos to braids and mesh sacks containing three garlic heads. In addition to packaging and marketing the product, the Cooperativa Voghierese carries out quality control and product traceability according to strict specifications, to ensure authenticity.

In order to promote the product at a national and European level and to regulate and organise the work of local farms in the best possible way, the Consorzio Produttori Aglio di Voghiera (Garlic Producers’ Consortium of Voghiera) was established in 2000 – both the Cooperativa Agricola Voghierese and its members have joined this consortium.
